A bit about me.....
My name is Molly and i love animals (And dont forget the enviroment!) im nearly nine years old and i have a puppy called Lucy. She's soooo friendly and loves everyone! And she's SOOO cute! She and her brother were dumped in the bush as really young pups and
we adopted her from a rescue website! If you look up where the pictures are, you will see my dog Lucy in the middle. Adopting from a rescue organisation is a really great way to get a dog, because they're dogs that really need homes. I used to have a dog called Solly (Solomon) and I loved him so much, but sadly he ran away. He was a rescue dog too, although we got him from a friend. I was so sad when he ran away. I'm happy that I have another dog now, but I still miss Solly.
I also have eight chickens! Their names are: Poko, Lunch, Dinner, Gigantica, Golden, Madam Pumfrey, Fatty Lumpkin and..... we've run out of names, got any ideas? Leave me a message on the "contact me" page to make a suggestion! We raised 6 of them from day-old chicks, which was a lot of fun, and also hard work. The photo on the right, at the top of this page, is of two of these chicks when they were first allowed to go outside on the grass. Aren't they cute? After this bought two little black bantams from a market, and one of them got really broody, so we got 5 fertile eggs from a friend. 2 got broken or eaten, and 3 hatched. It was so exciting! Sadly, 2 of them ended up being roosters, so we had to get rid of them because we're not allowed to have roosters in town. We killed and ate one of the roosters, which I felt really sad about and I didn't eat any. Then Mum found a nice farm for the other rooster to go and live on, which I was happy about! So we only have 1 chook left from the fertile eggs we got, but she's really cute and has started laying now. It's really funny how the eggs are really little when they first start laying! I think next time we get more chooks, I'd prefer to get day-old chickens again.
The photo on the left at the top of this page is of my rabbit, Fluffy, who died of old age. But before we had him, we had two other rabbits: DJ, and Ginger. DJ was killed by our neighbour's dog, because they didn't keep him locked up properly and he got into our yard. It was so sad. Ginger died when it was really really hot. She wasn't a really nice rabbit, but it was still sad.
It's sad to have your pets die. If you want them to live longer, look after them very well and feed them every day. Even though some of my pets have died, I'm really glad I had them as pets before that. It's very fun to have pets because you can play with them and they're cute.
